Pivnita Bunicii

Pinvita Bunicii - preparing fruitWe acquired our premises in October 2010 and the subsequent development of this site provides the process capacity and storage to fulfil our supply contract for semi- finished juices over the coming years. The new, sustainably sourced, wood clad process facility was designed to blend with the architectural landscape of Saschiz, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In tune with our environmental values, our new building employs modern materials to thermally insulate, provide natural light and an internal space flexible enough to allow for a range of different products to be processed throughout the year. One building has been renovated to provide accommodation and another provides office space and a shop. Wood fired central heating, using traditionally harvested wood, provides hot water and heating for the entire site. Waste flowers and berries are composted and this  used to conserve water and condition the soil in our garden.

Construction work on the site started at the end of June 2011 and the first phase was completed by mid-May 2012, just in time for a visit by HRH The Prince of Wales on 7th June of that year.

Our architect submitted his design for our facility to a national competition and his entry was selected for the Hall of  Fame in the category industrial building in a rural setting.
